The Elekta Direct Mount Graticule facilitates field size verification, positioning of lead blocks, and tumor localization within the radiation field. It is meant to attach directly to the head of the Elekta LINAC. It has small tungsten attenuators imbedded in a clear acrylic frame. Unlike the Open Air Graticule, it must be removed for treatment. The Direct Mount graticule provides clearer port film images than the open air, and also has larger markers every fifth. A safety latch requires two-step motion to detach.
